Dr. Takahisa Kawano completed medical school at the Yokohama City University School of Medicine and Emergency Medicine residency in Japan. He also holds a PhD in Integrated Medical Science from University of Fukui.

Thorough the disaster-relief activity after the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunamis in 2011, Dr. Kawano investigated the association between the emergency shelter’s environment and the health problems among evacuees. In addition to this project, he has engaged in studies of Emergency Department crowding and the development of accuracy of EMS field triage.
