The St. Paul’s Hospital Patient Stories Project highlights the diverse and unique life journeys of people who use substances who have visited our emergency department. Through interviews, our patients talked about their upbringing, strengths and weaknesses, goals, and motivations. They also described positive and negative experiences in our emergency department with the intention of helping us better understand what we are doing well and how we can do better. This project was completed in partnership with the Peer Navigation service and Indigenous Wellness Liaison team at St. Paul’s Hospital.

Thank you to all the participants who graciously shared their stories, and to Glyn Townson, Sandra Chow (VCH PLQI program), Dr. Kira Rich, Dr. Andrew Kestler, and Dr. Jessica Jacob for interviewing participants and creating these posters.
